A look at Eagles' top trade chips if they're sellers at deadline

Posted

The Eagles are 2-5 with two games to go before the NFL’s Nov. 10 trade deadline.

While the NFC East is not very good, it’s hard to make a convincing case that the Eagles — losers of five straight — are suddenly going to get heathy and rebound this season.

So it’s time to really start thinking about the Birds’ being sellers at the deadline and general manager Howie Roseman is always going to listen to trade offers.

Here’s a look at some of the Eagles’ top trade chips (in alphabetical order):

Saquon Barkley
Age: 29

This is the toughest one on the list. Barkley has played just two full games this season, but when he’s out there, he looks good. Heck, Barkley even looked good fighting through injuries against the Cowboys on Monday night. He hasn’t been able to stay healthy in 2026 but he still looks like an elite player when he’s on the field. Barkley is under contract through the 2028 season with just $2.5 million guaranteed in 2027.

Barkley means so much to the Eagles on and off the field that it would probably take way more for the Eagles to trade him than any team would be willing to give up.

Value? Back in 2022, the Panthers traded a 26-year-old Christian McCaffrey for a second, third, fourth and fifth-round picks. The real value for Barkley right now is probably a Round 2-3 pick but I’m not sure the Eagles would even pull the trigger on that.

Zack Baun
Age: 29

Baun will go down as one of the greatest free agent signings in Eagles history. But he’s going to turn 30 in December and doesn’t have any guaranteed money beyond this season. (But it’s worth noting Baun spent the early portion of his career as a special teams player without taking on the wear and tear of being a full-time starter.) After the Super Bowl season, Baun signed a three-year, $51 million deal but it’s hard to imagine him playing on that deal in 2027 after all the guaranteed money runs out. While he isn’t making as many splash splays this season, Baun has still been playing very well. He has 51 tackles, 5 TFLs and 3 QB hits in six starts this season and has been a Pro Bowler in back-to-back seasons.

If the Eagles were to trade Baun, they would go forward the rest of this season with Jihaad Campbell and Jeremiah Trotter Jr. as their two starters. Those players have been splitting reps next to Baun the last couple of games.

Value? You obviously can’t give Baun away. He’s one of the best inside linebackers in the NFL and a captain. The Eagles can’t entertain offers for anything less than a second-round pick.

Hollywood Brown
Age: 29

I have this image of Howie Roseman pumping his fist on Monday night when Brown made a couple of catches in his first game action of the season. The Eagles brought Brown in on a one-year, $5 million deal this offseason but he has played in just two games so far and was the Eagles’ only healthy scratch a couple weeks ago against the Panthers. Brown is a former first-round pick who never really lived up to that draft status but he has been somewhat productive in his NFL career. Brown had 587 receiving yards with the Chiefs in 2025 and might be able to help a contender.

Value? It’s not much and it hasn’t helped that Brown has barely played for the Eagles this season. But because he hasn’t been helping them, there’s really no reason to keep him. A late-round pick or a late-round pick swap would get it done.

Landon Dickerson
Age: 28

We already saw the Eagles ship out one of their OL starters from Super Bowl LIX and Dickerson might be the next to go. It’s hard to fault the Eagles for trading Cam Jurgens because they got back a second-round pick in that deal. Dickerson and Jurgens have been lumped together for good reason. They were both second-round picks who played through injuries in that Super Bowl run and are both near the top of the league in terms of salary at their respective positions. Dickerson’s contract was restructured this offseason and is now reportedly under contract through just 2027.

Dickerson was awful in the season opener but after missing five games on IR, returned against the Cowboys and played pretty well. He might not ever get back to his prime but Dickerson looked tradable on Monday night. A big part of the Jurgens trade was about freeing up cash to spend elsewhere as the Eagles start a youth movement on their offensive line. Dickerson would be an obvious continuation of that movement. There also might be a disconnect between Dickerson and the front office, which has made it felt like this is building toward a trade.

Value? After the Eagles were able to get a second-rounder for Jurgens, it’s hard to say what they’d get for Dickerson. But it’s hard to imagine getting anything better than a fourth-round pick. Quenton Nelson just brought back third- and fifth-round picks to the Colts.

Dallas Goedert
Age: 31

The 2018 second-round pick is now in his ninth season with the Eagles and is amazingly fourth in franchise history in receptions with 431. He’s just 21 behind Pete Retzlaff for third, but maybe he doesn’t get the chance to get there. Because Goedert is on a one-year deal, the time might be right to bring back some value while shipping him to a contender for the rest of the 2026 season. Goedert isn’t in his prime anymore but he’s still good. In five games this season, Goedert has 22 catches for 228 yards and 2 touchdowns. And if a team is looking for a playoff contributor, Goedert makes sense. In 13 postseason games, Goedert has 56 catches for 595 yards and 5 touchdowns.

It would be nice for Goedert to play his whole career in Philadelphia and he has had opportunities to leave before and has stayed. But it might be time to reset the tight end position in Philly and get rookie Eli Stowers some more run after he made his NFL debut on Monday night.

Value? There haven’t been many in-season trades of tight ends in recent history but an early-to-mid Day 3 pick feels appropriate.

Moro Ojomo
Age: 25

The Eagles have already paid Jalen Carter and Joran Davis big money at the defensive tackle position so it seems extremely unlikely they’re going to be able to keep Ojomo long-term. The former seventh-round pick hasn’t been having a monster 2026 season but he showed what he was capable of last year with a 6-sack campaign in his third NFL season. Ojomo is a good player and is on the final year of his rookie contract. Even though Ojomo hasn’t gotten a sack yet this season, he still leads the Eagles in pressures with 18.

Of all the potential trade chips the Eagles have, Ojomo might just be one of the most valuable.

Value? If Ojomo were to finish out his season and sign elsewhere, he would count toward the Eagles’ compensatory pick formula and the Eagles might get a third-rounder back for him. But that only works if the Eagles don’t also sign free agents who would cancel out that pick. And the comp picks are at the end of the round. So if the Eagles know Ojomo isn’t going to be part of their future and they can get a third or fourth-round pick (and maybe something else?) for him now, it would make a lot of sense.

The Colts just traded 32-year-old DeForest Buckner for a fourth-round pick. Sure, Buckner has obviously had a better career but Ojomo would make sense for a team that likes the idea of getting a 25-year-old into the building for half a season with the chance to re-sign him to a long-term deal.

Nolan Smith
Age: 25

The Eagles really missed Nolan Smith on Monday night when they played the Cowboys. Smith was out with a concussion. The former first-round pick is tied for the team lead with three sacks this season in six games. And we’ve seen a productive Smith when healthy. In the final 16 games of the 2024 season (including playoffs), Smith had 10 1/2 sacks. Overall, Smith hasn’t been the most productive first-round pick but he’s a solid pass rusher and a plus defender against the run. He’s a nice player if a team wants to bolster its edge rusher group.

This offseason, the Eagles paid Jonathan Greenard big money and they still really like Jalyx Hunt, who is in his third season in his rookie contract. The hunch here is that the Eagles would prefer to keep Hunt long-term. And if they want to keep Hunt, then it probably makes Smith more expendable. The Eagles picked up Smith’s fifth-year option for 2027 and already converted most of that $12.5 million into an option bonus for cap purposes. So Smith wouldn’t be just a one-year rental, which should theoretically drive up his value.

Value? Because Smith wouldn’t be just a half-year rental, the Eagles should ask for more. Last trade deadline, the Eagles brought in Jaelan Phillips for a third-round pick. The Eagles shouldn’t take any less for Smith and they should ask for more. Third-round picks are pretty common for edge rushers but the Commanders were able to get a second-round pick for Montez Sweat in 2024. Sweat was better but was also on an expiring contract.

Riq Woolen
Age: 27

The Eagles signed Woolen to a one-year, $12 million deal this offseason after he finished up his rookie contract with the Seahawks. Woolen has had some ups and downs and he definitely didn’t help his trade value with his performance against the Cowboys on Monday night. In that game, Woolen gave up 5 receptions on 7 targets for a career-high 111 yards. On the season, Woolen has been targeted 40 times and has given up 22 catches for 340 yards and 3 touchdowns for an opposing passer rating of 108.3.

The Eagles brought in Woolen on a one-year deal so they shouldn’t hesitate to try to recoup some value for him by shipping him out before the deadline. His recent performance wasn’t great but Woolen has traits and could probably help a cornerback needy contender. Woolen doesn’t have an interception this season but he has 12 in his five-year NFL career.

Value? Because of Woolen’s recent play it would probably be tough to get a third-round pick for him. So it’s more likely the Eagles would be able to land an early Day 3 pick (Rounds 4-5).
