The NFL Draft was finally held live after two straight years of digital events caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The glitzy three-day NFL event kicked off in Las Vegas with a red-carpet stage in front of the Bellagio fountains and a main stage next to Caesars Forum. The NFL previously shunned Vegas for its close connections to gambling, but has recently opened its arms to Sin City in tandem with a proliferation of sports betting. In 2020, the city gained an NFL franchise with the launch of the Las Vegas Raiders. It will host this year’s Pro Bowl and the 2024 Super Bowl.
